PROBLEM The HaeBangChon (HBC) community has seen an increase in foreign residents in the past few years. Unfortunately, they have often been segregated from the rest of the community due to a variety of reasons: language barriers, locals’ unfamiliarity interacting with foreigners, and lack of shared community space.
SOLUTION The HBC Community Rooftop is a privately owned public open space (POPOS) that aims to directly combat the lack of shared space, fostering interactions between the diverse community.
